Wow I enjoyed that. I used to live in the area 2002-2017 and have often lamented missing the pre-Canary Wharf development. I have driven and cycled the Isle beaucoup fois and researched many a photo. A lot of those locations are here. What an extraordinary piece of editing taking something from 1989 and matching it to something more recent. I salute the effort and time spent and thank yo so much for it. I will be revisiting this video many a time. I suspect I will not be alone. Many thanks for posting - a important piece of historical record. KP

Terrif footage. What would make this even better would be the occasional location hint like a street name. Lived in Poplar 2002-2017 and spent much time on the Isle. Remarkable changes even whilst I was there. Between 1989 and 2002 clearly there was even more!. Managed to Google Map episode 1 after recognising name Cotton St (Robin Hood Gardens now gone). Not managed to do the same with this second episode. Very enjoyable watch and I am so glad you had the foresight(and equipment) at the time to do these recordings - they are gems that future generations will spill over. KP

I was a Unigate milk boy on The Island & Limehouse in the 70s & lived in Alpha Grove from the 60s. The Glass Bridge was terrifying to cross as the middle bit lifted up🌉. Good to see The North Pole pub, many a pint🍻🍻

So interesting! I've got a photo I took of Tobago Street when I was at art college from maybe 1998 and I always wondered what it looked like now. I have to say I miss the old London, although I was only 15 when the first video was made.

None of these buildings are still around now

I remember going there as the docks were being redeveloped and the city airport was under construction. It was dead. No one around. It’s even worse now

A real eye-opener to this viewer who lived behind Limehouse Police Station from 1963 until 1969 and walked the E14 streets during those days (and nights!.

So many good pub memories...the old "Joanna" being the "backbone" of any good sing-along in my own pub-going days - East End and West End....from the Swinging 60s onwards. What a huge pity this sort of entertainment has largely been lost in recent times - along with too many pubs! The price of a modern pint hasn't helped either!.
